Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are the perfect solution for anyone seeking to restore beauty to cracked, chipped, misshapen, or otherwise blemished teeth. A porcelain veneer is a thin shell of porcelain that is bonded onto a tooth to improve its cosmetic appearance. Because of their ability to greatly change the overall appearance of smiles they are most often used in smile makeovers. Porcelain veneers can correct problems with spaces between teeth, crooked teeth, crowded teeth, stained teeth, and short or poorly shaped teeth. The combination of the finest porcelain veneers and the artistry of Dr. Dennis Olson will help you attain the beautiful healthy smile you deserve. If you live in the Phoenix area and would like to schedule a free cosmetic consultation with Dr. Olson, please contact us today.

Dental Crowns
If a tooth is severely decayed, extremely sensitive, or has received a root canal, dental crowns are an ideal cosmetic solution. Crowns may also be used to protect the structure of a tooth that is fractured or broken. A crown covers the entire tooth in order to restore its original appearance, protect the tooth from harm, and to relieve you of any pain or discomfort associated with the tooth. The use of crowns is essential in any situation that requires greater strength and aesthetics. Although gold or metal crowns are still used, durable porcelain crowns made from pure ceramic or a new reinforced composite resin have become more popular and are almost indistinguishable from natural teeth. For more information about crowns, please contact us today.
Dental Bridges
If you're missing one or more teeth, you may be aware of their importance to your appearance and dental health. Your teeth work together to help you chew, speak, sing, and smile. When you lack teeth, it's difficult to do these things and your remaining teeth drift out of position. Missing teeth can and should be replaced. One option for replacing missing teeth is to use a fixed dental bridge. Bridges are comprised of one or more artificial teeth supported by crowns on either end. They are fixed in place and are extremely secure so our patients will never again have to worry about their teeth while talking, eating, or flashing their million dollar smiles. Dr. Olson and Dr. Kaus custom fit each patient's bridge to ensure that the bridge will fit comfortably and blend perfectly into the surrounding natural teeth. To learn more about whether you are a good candidate before a bridge, please contact us today. |

Dentures
If you are missing a large number of teeth, you may want to consider dentures. We offer both full and partial dentures. Patients from Phoenix, Peoria, Sun City and the surrounding areas have been coming to Ideal Dentistry for custom dentures for more than 25 years.
Partial Dentures
If you still have many teeth that are healthy and strong, then partial dentures may be the best option for filling in the gaps. Partial dentures consist of lifelike porcelain teeth attached to a support structure that snaps in behind your existing teeth. This low-profile structure snaps onto your teeth with precision clasps, allowing partial dentures to be removed for cleaning and when you sleep.
Full Dentures
When all or most of your teeth are decayed and gone, the best option for restoring your smile, your ability to chew, and the form and definition of your face is a full set of dentures. Dr. Dennis Olson or Dr. Bill Kaus can fit you for a custom-made set of full dentures at our office. Please contact us today for more information about dentures.
Dental Implants
Are you tired of or avoiding dentures? Are you finding that bridges aren't right for you? Are you looking for a permanent method of tooth replacement? If so, dental implants may be the answer. Implants offer more stability and support than either dentures or bridges, and they are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth. Implants, made of titanium, function as artificial roots for new teeth. Each root is topped with a crown, making it functional and aesthetic. Implants are completed in three stages - implant insertion, osteointegration (where the implant post is left in place so that gum and bone may grow around it), and attachment of the crown. Implants take a few months to be completed, but results can last indefinitely with proper care. To learn more about dental implants, please contact us today. |

Inlays and Onlays
Inlays and onlays are indirect fillings used to replace old or broken fillings or when the cavity or lost tooth structure is too large to be restored by a simple filling. Indirect fillings are similar to regular fillings with the exception being that they are cemented onto the tooth by one's dentist and are custom-made in a dental lab as opposed to being molded to shape in one's mouth. Indirect fillings take two different forms: inlays which fit into the tooth space remaining after the decay of an old filling or cavity has been removed and onlays (partial crowns) which sit on the tooth and builds up its shape. For more information, please contact us today.

Dental Sealants
A sealant is a plastic material that is usually applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. The grooves in the back teeth are more difficult to reach with a toothbrush and naturally attract and collect bacteria, which leads to decay. Sealing the tooth helps prevent this decay. The plastic material fits into the grooves of these back teeth and acts as a barrier, protecting the enamel from plaque and acids. Sealants are easy to apply... often it takes only a few minutes to seal each tooth. Sealants hold up well to natural activities, such as chewing, and usually last several years before a reapplication is necessary. Children and teenagers are the most common candidates for sealants, but adults can greatly benefit from them as well.
Root Canal Therapy
Even though they may be the root of dental anxiety, root canal therapy is an extremely effective method of saving damaged teeth. Each of our teeth is connected to the root by a thin strand of nerves. When they become damaged or infected, the nerves can die, leading to possible tooth loss. Root canal therapy reshapes or removes the nerves, and then a crown is placed over the tooth. The procedure is done under anesthesia. A lot of pain and a host of future problems can be eliminated by undergoing root canal therapy.
Tooth Extractions
Tooth extractions are generally necessary only under extreme conditions, such as irreparable nerve damage or in preparation for certain reconstructive procedures. Dr. Olson and Dr. Kaus handle these procedures with the utmost care and concern for the patient's comfort and safety.
Preventative Care
The best way to avoid major problems with your teeth and gums is to combine daily at-home care with regular professional cleanings. In general, we recommend that patients visit us twice a year for basic preventative services. During normal office visits we offer teeth cleaning, polishing, and periodontal (gum) treatment. As well, our hygienists are always available to show patients how to best maintain their oral health between appointments. To schedule a professional cleaning, please contact us today.
Children's Dentistry
Here at Ideal Dentistry, we offer dental care for patients of all ages. Fantastic dental health should begin early, so feel free to bring the little ones by for teeth-cleanings, preventive care, and even more complex procedures. |
